today we took the all of 7th - 12th grade students to a local tubing hill! it was just the day i needed after the past two days of school- monday and tuesday were rough days for me at school. today was AWESOME! the kids were great, they had so much fun. the weather was perfect- cold and sunny, not much wind. i don't think any of them had ever been tubing before, so it was all a very new experience. therefore, not many of them were prepared for the cold- not hats, gloves, scarves, not enough layered clothes. despite being cold, they really had a blast!
we tubed for 2 hours, some of the kids even stayed out the whole 2 hours. there was a small lodge with a huge wood stove they could go to warm up and drink hot chocolate.

(above) this is one of my students, latasha. she is the sweetest girl, a good student, and just a great caring person! she said her ankles were frostbitten!

this is nick, he went down the hill so fast that he hit the end wall and flew off his tube! not sure what word came out of his mouth at that time, but he thought it was great fun, despite his near "death" experience!
ahh, micah. i have been a mentor to micah for a few years now. she can't wait to be in high school next year so she can do more with me at school. we rode down the hill together a few times.
steven and chelsea- both absolute hams for the camera!what a wonderfully rejuvenating day for the students and us teachers! the park workers said that we were one of the best groups that they have had. somehow, we have taught our students to be respectful of others and their property, even if they aren't always that way with us! thank you Lord for good weather and good students!

Wow, so your blog is really cool! I love seeing pictures of your students and the fun you have! My fun today was losing the feeling in my fingers and not being able to move them because they were so cold...*sigh* Love ya!
