Snowy problems...

We had quite an exciting afternoon yesterday at school. The elementary and middle school students all left on their bus, and we sent the high school out to get on their two buses (large, public transporation buses). It had snowed ALL day, non-stop. The parking lot had not been plowed since early morning, and there was probably about 6-8" of new snow on the ground. One bus loaded up and got stuck trying to pull forward to leave. It ended up trying to back down the school driveway, but the back end starting to slide sideways- RIGHT TOWARD A LARGE RAVINE! Our driveway slopes sharpy down into a ravine on one side, and the back end headed right toward it! We got the kids (who were all very scared and freaking out) off the bus and watched nervously as the driver tried to drive the bus out and ended up sliding even closer to the point of no return! We expected it to disappear into the ravine at any moment. Somehow, by the grace of God, the bus pulled out and was fine. The kids were all very nervous to get back on and drive home!

Scary! And here I am putting my kids on the bus every day. Of course, we live about 1/2 mile from the school, and there aren't any ravines nearby. Still!

Love the picture of Molly and Annie!

Yikes! Your story reminds me of my bus sliding off a muddy road into the ditch when I was a kid. We had to have Dad come pull us out with a tractor.
