Thursday, April 15, Grandpa Shaffer went to be with the Lord. He spent his day like every other day. He went to his favorite restaurant up the street for lunch, coffee, and to read the newspaper. It was a gorgeous day and he wanted to walk home, so Grandma took him his walker. He walked the few blocks home, went in the house, sat in his favorite chair, and appears to have passed away while napping. His body was tired, and the Lord was ready for him to pass out candy to the kids in heaven!
Drew's family will all be staying at our house this weekend. It will be squishy, but we'll manage! The funeral is Monday.
This picture is a little dark, but Grandpa smiled the whole time Caleb sat on his lap! He even fell asleep later with a smile on his face!
