we had all kinds of company visit of the week of july 4th! sam and martha (drew's sis) came for a few days! we all had dinner at gpa and gma shaffer's one night.
eric (drew's uncle) and alicea were here for a WHOLE WEEK! it was great to spend so much time together. alicea and i got to do our huge, once a year, shopping spree! the boys did some mountain biking, all four of us rode the 14 miles around the peninsula on lake erie! i sure wish they lived here in erie still. we miss having them around!
we all took a walk with the dogs one afternoon before dinner. sadie, molly, and annie are still the best of friends, even though sadie is getting older!
i caught gpa shaffer, val, and eric waking back from the local diner where they went for coffee and breakfast one morning. i love this picture!
not sure why i don't have a picture of justin and alice. i'll have to get some copied from mama shaffer, she always has tons of shots! it was a wonderful week. we saw great fireworks shot off from almost our backyard! we did go down the the high school parking lot for a better shot, some of our trees were too big to see over! the finale was incredible. the only thing missing was gimples with brown ice cream!!!

A huge blessing of family! Carrie, we're so glad you became part of a loving family when you married Drew. It makes it easier to be as far from you as we are when we know you have another family to be with as well.
Carrie, your vacation looks like it was awesome! It stinks that your camera broke, but the pictures you got before it broke told the story pretty well. I'm sure the rest of the memories are embedded in your hearts forever.
We had a great time at your house, that weekend. We love being able to learn from you. Once we get settled into our new apartment you'll have to come visit us. And we'll make arrangements for your kiddos this time so you can all come!
